If there's one major thing I'm learning while doing this film, it's that I need to make my backgrounds less 'dioramic'. There are a few bgs that have open-feeling compositions, and imply a world beyond the screen edges, but mostly they feel like I'm stuffed jungle into a cardboard box and filmed it.
This, like so many other things, could be helped with just a little bit more planning. I thought I had it all planed out pretty good, but I'm finding problems that I never knew would exist.
Plan more lighting on the next film!
It's good to know I'm practicing all this, so next time, I should be pretty under control and make something that I feel best represents the extent of my abilities.
