I enjoy the inverted pink crazyness ToonBoom always has.

More reflection:

I've always considered myself an okay character designer - I thought I was really happy with Fire Tiger and Acid Panther's designs. They both looked perfectly cat like, Acid was slinky, Fire was bulky, and most importantly, the designs were appealing.

I'm finding, though, as I animate with no lines, that the designs just aren't up to scratch. I had never factored in readability in such an implicit style, and it's coming back to haunt me.

Not much I can do about it at this stage, but I'm glad to learn of my mistake so I can do better on the next film.

Some frames. Spoilers everywhere! Not that there's really that much to spoil.

If there's one major thing I'm learning while doing this film, it's that I need to make my backgrounds less 'dioramic'. There are a few bgs that have open-feeling compositions, and imply a world beyond the screen edges, but mostly they feel like I'm stuffed jungle into a cardboard box and filmed it.

This, like so many other things, could be helped with just a little bit more planning. I thought I had it all planed out pretty good, but I'm finding problems that I never knew would exist.

Plan more lighting on the next film!

It's good to know I'm practicing all this, so next time, I should be pretty under control and make something that I feel best represents the extent of my abilities.
